Peru 8 Escudos 1713 "Double Dated! From the 1715 Fleet Shipwreck" NGC 61! Straight 13, not an overdate (1713/2) which is rarer! We've never had a straight 13, but we've had 2 overdates. Crisp strike on the '713' as well, a lot of the time the 3rd digit is smoothed, scratched or filed off. Very asethically pleasing to read the date in such a well pronounced strike! You can also clearly see the 'ANO 713' at 11 o'clock meaning of course 'the year of 1713'. Besides the double date though, the piece of resistance is the Cross! Well struck, with crisp and toned devices to make the details really pop. No doubling on the Cross is a major factor in aethetics and value to these pieces, along with having solid Castles & Lions.
